What is Aim, and who is it for?

Aim is your all-in-one immersion companion. It gives you a plan for your language, helps you do it every day, and shows you how far you've come. It's for anyone learning a language through the real thing: shows, podcasts, YouTube, books, games.

Why I built it

You can only learn for so long. Fluency doesn't live in your learned knowledge. It lives in your time with the real thing.

A plan was never enough either. What's the gap between you doing the plan and you reaching your goal? Action is the gap. So Aim does three things: it plans with you, it gets you to press play, and it lets you doom-scroll in your target language without feeling bad about it.

What's in it

Your blueprint (free). Answer a few questions and Aim builds your plan: your mission, your daily protocol, your tools, and things to watch, listen to and read in your language. See What's on my blueprint?.

Who is it for?

  • You're learning a language and you want to actually use it. Watch the shows, follow the creators, read the webtoons.
  • You're stuck on apps. Duolingo is fine. Okay, what do I do though? Aim tells you.
  • You already immerse, but it's all over the place. Aim puts it on one timeline and counts it.
  • Any language. Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, German, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic get the full Library and Tools picks. Anything else still gets tracking, reports and streaks. See Can I track a language that isn't in the main list?.

You see what you're doing, you grow, you reflect, you plan, you scroll, you doom-scroll, you do your lazy stuff, you play some games. All of those things added together. That's Immersed.

How do I start?

  • Two names. Aim is the app, and the little pink guy who talks to you inside it. Immersed is my brand, so you'll see "Immersed Pro" on your plan.
  • Phone and computer. Same account, same data. Aim runs on the web on both.
