Privacy Policy

Your privacy is extremely important to us. This policy details how we handle, collect, and safeguard your data honestly and transparently.

Last Updated: October 15, 2026 • Effective Date: October 15, 2026

1. Who We Are

Immersed is a language-immersion ecosystem operated by Ademola Adeyemi, a sole individual based in Maryland, United States, doing business as AdeImmersed. We are the data controller for information you provide through the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Information

  • When you sign up with email and password: your name (first name), email address, and password (password is processed and stored by our authentication provider, Supabase, and is never visible to us in plain text).
  • When you sign in with Google: your email address, display name, and profile picture URL provided by Google. We also receive an OAuth access token and refresh token to enable features you authorize (see Section 4).

Onboarding & Assessment Information

When you complete the Immersion Blueprint assessment, we collect your answers, including: your first name and email, whether you want follow-up letters, target language, referral source, learning duration, current method, motivations, daily time commitment (in minutes), how many hours you immerse now, lifestyle indicators, how you prefer to learn, your budget (on older versions of the quiz), comprehension level, content habits, vocabulary system, grammar approach, timeline expectations, accent priority, speaking priority, speaking blockers, primary obstacle, learning vision, and preferred feedback/coaching style.

With or without an account. If you give us your email during the quiz, we keep your email, your first name and all your answers, whether or not you make an account.

Immersion Logs

When you log immersion sessions, we collect: content ID, content title, content type (watch/listen/read), platform, the page or video address, date, start and end times, duration, language, activity types, tags, sentence-mining flags and counts, comprehension rating (1 to 5), and your notes.

Schedule & Profile Data

Your schedule blocks, custom block titles, timestamps, descriptions, timeline positions, custom display name, biography, and any avatar image you upload.

Bug Reports

When you submit a bug report, we collect: the subject and description you provide, any screenshots you attach, your browser's user-agent string, and the page URL where the issue occurred.

Waitlists

If you join a guide waitlist, we store your email and the obstacle you picked. If you join the coaching waitlist, we also store your first name, the language you are learning, what you are stuck on, what it costs you, and your budget. When you sign up, we store which plan the link you came in on pointed to (the intent in the address).

Other Things You Send Us

Survey answers and contact details, ratings and comments, questions you type into Ask Aim, Migaku partner offer claims (the email you use for Migaku, and when you clicked our Migaku link), push reminder settings for each device (the device's push address, time zone and browser), files you import (CSV, Toggl, Google Sheets), game scores, Aim outfit requests and gifts (including the recipient's name and your note), interests you pick, and the reason you give if you cancel Pro.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We use one analytics service, PostHog, to see how people come through the front door of the app: the pages they visit, and steps like opening the paywall, picking a plan, starting and finishing checkout, and starting or finishing an immersion session, together with the link they arrived through (aim_ref, see Section 9). PostHog also receives error reports when something in the app breaks.

If you're signed in, PostHog receives your account ID only, never your email or your name. Your quiz answers and your plans are never sent to PostHog. PostHog sits under Analytics in your storage preferences: it's on unless you turn it off, and it stops the moment you do. This data is not sold and not used for advertising.

We also use Sentry to receive error reports when the app breaks, and we record some use of the app in our own database: which Library items you see and open, and AI requests (to enforce usage limits). Emails we send can tell us whether you opened them and which links you clicked.

We do not use advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar services.

The following automatic collection occurs:

  • Standard request logs (IP address, browser and device type) when your browser loads the app or contacts our servers, and when it loads files from other services such as flagcdn.com, Google Fonts, cdn.tailwindcss.com and cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
  • When you build a blueprint or use an AI feature, we store a scrambled (salted hash) version of your IP address, plus your email if you gave it and your browser type. We use these to enforce the free blueprint limit and usage limits, and never store the IP address itself.
  • Error reports. When the app hits an error, Sentry receives the page address, your browser and device type, what the app was doing just before the error, and sometimes your account ID.
  • Browser local storage and session storage entries (see Section 9).
  • Link tags. If the link you came in on has a campaign tag (the ref in the address, such as ?ref=threads-bio), your browser keeps it for up to 7 days. If you give us your email, we save it with your assessment answers, and it rides on the PostHog events above. We keep it until you save your storage preferences (Section 9) with Attribution & Referrals turned off. After that it is not kept.

2.3 Payments, and What We Do NOT Collect

Payments. If you buy Immersed Pro, you pay through Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. Stripe receives what you enter at checkout (your card details and billing details), plus your email and your Immersed account ID. When checkout opens, Stripe's script also collects details about your browser and device to help detect fraud. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store your card number. We keep a record of your plan, its status, its trial and renewal dates, your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the messages Stripe sends us about your payments (which can include your name, email and the country or postal code you entered), and, if you cancel, the reason you picked.

We do not ask for phone numbers or postal addresses, and we do not collect GPS or precise device location, health data, or biometric data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Generate your personalized Immersion Blueprint.
  • Display your immersion logs, statistics, library, schedule, and growth metrics.
  • Sync your data across devices when you sign in.
  • Respond to bug reports and support inquiries.
  • Understand how the app is used, from records of what you view and click, including the PostHog counts in Section 2.2.
  • Read the blueprints people get and the answers behind them, to improve the plans and to follow up personally.
  • Email you your blueprint, account and billing notices (including a reminder before a free trial ends), and, only if you said yes, follow-up letters from Ade. Every letter has an unsubscribe link. We can see whether you opened an email and which links you clicked.
  • Enforce the one free blueprint per person limit and AI usage limits.
  • Communicate with you about waitlists you joined.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising.

4. Google API Services: Limited Use Disclosure

Immersed's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.1 Google OAuth Scopes We Request

When you connect your Google account, we may request the following scopes:

ScopeWhy We Need It
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendarTo read the events on your primary calendar for the day you choose, so you can bring them into your immersion timeline.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.eventsRequested together with the scope above. Immersed only reads events; it never creates, changes or deletes calendar events.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.readonlyTo read cells from a Google Sheet you explicitly provide a URL for, so you can migrate immersion logs you've kept elsewhere into Immersed.

4.2 What We Do With Google User Data

  • Google Calendar data is read on-demand to populate your immersion timeline. Event titles, durations, and times are imported only when you initiate the import. We do not read calendars other than your primary calendar, and we do not access events outside the date range you select.
  • Google Sheets data is read only from spreadsheet URLs you explicitly paste into Immersed for the purpose of log migration. We read only the tabs and rows you specify.

4.3 What We Do NOT Do With Google User Data

  • We do not use Google user data to train, develop, or improve any generalized AI/ML models.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except to provide or improve user-facing features that you explicitly request, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you).
  • We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
  • Humans do not read your Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent for specific instances, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

4.4 Revoking Google Access

You may revoke Immersed's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions page. Revoking access does not delete data you already imported into Immersed. To delete it, delete your account or email us (Section 7).

5. AI Features (Google Gemini)

Immersed uses the Google Gemini API (currently Gemini 2.5 Flash, falling back to newer Flash models) to write your Immersion Blueprint, your weekly review, trending-content picks, and translations of the words you search for.

To build your blueprint, we send Gemini all your quiz answers (Section 2.1), including your first name and email. For the weekly review, we send your immersion totals and your most-watched title and tags. For trending picks, we send your target language and country.

We use the paid Gemini API. Under Google's terms for it, Google does not use these prompts or responses to train its models. Google may keep them for a limited time to detect abuse.

The generated blueprint is saved as JSON in our database and tied to your account so you can return to it.

6. Third-Party Service Providers (Subprocessors)

We share information only with the providers we need to run the Service:

ProviderPurposeData Shared
Supabase, Inc.Database, sign-in, file storageAll account data, logs, uploaded files, sign-in details
Google Cloud (Cloud Run)Hosts the web appStandard request logs

flagcdn.com, Google Fonts, unavatar.io, ClearbitFlags, fonts, and channel and site logosStandard browser request data, and for logos the channel or site name shown

Most of these providers are in the United States. Some run networks around the world, so your data may also be processed in other countries (Section 12).

We do not share your personal information with any other parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Active accounts: Your data is retained while your account is active.

Deleting your account in the app: Go to Settings → Account → Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. If you pay for Pro, cancel it in Settings → Billing first. Before deleting, the app checks with Stripe, and it won't delete an account while a plan on it is still set to renew. Deleting ends any Pro access, lifetime included. It does not refund a payment by itself; refunds follow the refund policy in our Terms.

What deletion removes: everything tied to your account in our database, straight away. That is your profile, settings, Immersion List, playlists, logs, sessions and playback positions, reports and their share links, blueprints, schedule and inbox, notifications and reminders, game scores, outfits, imports, weekly reviews, Migaku partner claims, AI usage records, questions you typed into Ask Aim, your votes on a YouTube channel's language, our billing records for you, and your sign-in record and every signed-in session, including the Chrome extension's. Your account is taken off any YouTube channel lookups you asked for; the lookup itself (the channel and how far indexing got) stays. We also delete what we keep under your account's email address, including other spellings that reach the same inbox (a +tag, or dots in a Gmail address): quiz answers and blueprints from before you signed up, your email preferences (so follow-up letters stop), waitlist entries, feedback, survey answers and bug reports. And we delete your files: your profile picture, bug report screenshots, and the PDFs of your reports and blueprints. We also ask Stripe to delete the customer record it keeps for your account.

What stays: items you shared that we published to the community Library or Tools stay, without your name (Section 14). Counts that no longer point to you, such as how often a Library item was opened, stay. If you built a free blueprint in the last 30 days, we keep when it was made and the scrambled version of your IP address (Section 2.2), and nothing else, so the free blueprint limit for your network still applies. Stripe keeps its own payment and checkout records, which include your email address and account ID, and we keep the payment messages Stripe sent us, for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Our email provider keeps delivery logs for a limited time. Error reports already sent to Sentry stay until Sentry deletes them on its schedule. Some copies stay until we remove them by hand; email us and we will: copies of emails we sent you, the notices our own mailbox gets about your blueprint (your email, quiz answers and plan) and about any Migaku partner claim, the copy of your quiz answers passed to Make if you gave your email in the quiz, and any alert about a Migaku partner claim in our team's Discord.

Deleting by email: You can also email support@adeimmersed.com from the address you sign in with. We will delete your account and the data above, and tell you when it is done, within 30 days of your request.

Backups: We do not edit our database provider's automatic backups. Deleted data in them disappears as those backups expire on the provider's schedule.

8. Data Security

  • In transit: All communications between your browser and our infrastructure (Supabase, Google APIs) use TLS/HTTPS encryption.
  • At rest: Database storage and file storage on Supabase are encrypted using industry-standard AES-256.
  • Access controls: Database rules let your signed-in account read only your own data. Immersed's admin (Ademola Adeyemi) can see what is needed to run the Service, such as Immersion List items, survey and waitlist answers, partner claims, and the blueprints we email. Your profile picture is stored at a web address that anyone who has the link can open.

No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use advertising cookies. The only analytics cookie is PostHog's, which you can turn off under Analytics in your storage preferences. Two other services we use set their own. When you open checkout, Stripe's script loads and sets its fraud-prevention cookies on our site (__stripe_mid, kept for a year, and __stripe_sid, kept for 30 minutes); the script stays loaded until you reload or close the tab. Google sets its cookies if you use Sign in with Google. The app stores data in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to work. The main keys are below; others hold small settings and cached copies of your own data.

aim_refThe link you arrived through (its ?ref=), kept for the visit and up to 7 days. Not kept if you turn off Attribution & Referrals.

Manage Your Cookie & Storage Preferences

Analytics & Error Diagnostics turns PostHog off, and Attribution & Referrals turns link tags off (Section 2.2). Sentry error reports and the Functional switch are not controlled here yet.

You can clear these at any time through your browser's site data settings or by adjusting your preferences above.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information (delete your account in Settings → Account, or email us; see Section 7).
  • Export your information (download your logs as a CSV file from the Growth page, or email us for a copy of everything we hold about you).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent (e.g., revoke Google access).

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): Our legal bases for processing are (i) performance of a contract (operating your account), (ii) your consent (Google integrations, optional features), and (iii) our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.

To exercise any right, email support@adeimmersed.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

Immersed is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@adeimmersed.com and we will delete it.

12. International Users

Immersed is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our subprocessors operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer.

13. Affiliate Disclosure

Some content within the Immersion Blueprint and Tools page contains affiliate links, including links to our sponsor partner Migaku. If you click these links and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This revenue helps us provide the Immersion Blueprint to free users. We only recommend tools we have personally used or vetted. Affiliate links are clearly labeled within the Service.

When you click our Migaku link while signed in, we record that you clicked it and when. If you claim the Migaku partner offer, we keep the email you used for Migaku and share it, along with your Immersed email, with our team (in our admin panel, a private Discord channel and email) to check your claim.

14. Community-Shared Content

When you add an item to your personal Immersion List, you may opt to share it with the community by checking the "share with community" box. Items you opt-in to share are reviewed by our admin team before being published in the public Immersion Library. By sharing, you grant AdeImmersed a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute the shared metadata (title, link, category, your associated display name if attribution is enabled) within the Service. You can request removal of any shared item at any time by emailing support@adeimmersed.com.

What others can see: if you play the listening games while signed in and reach a top 10, your first name and Aim outfit appear on that leaderboard for everyone. If you make your profile public, others can see your name, hours, languages, start date and medallions. Anyone with the link in your blueprint email can open your blueprint and the answers behind it (not your email), and anyone with a report share link you create can open that report.

15. Immersed for Chrome (browser extension)

Immersed for Chrome lets you save web pages and YouTube videos to your Immersed list and time immersion sessions on them, with your Immersed account. This section covers what the extension stores and sends. The rest of this policy applies to it too.

15.1 What Stays on Your Computer

The extension keeps these in Chrome's local extension storage on this computer. It does not use Chrome sync.

  • Your sign-in session (access and refresh tokens), so you stay signed in.
  • Your settings, including your focus language and the sites where you turned Immersed off.
  • The running session, its notes and tags until you stop, and where the pop-up player was in the video.
  • Where you last dragged the session timer (the same place on every site).
  • Your name, profile picture address and plan status, a random device ID, and which tips you have seen.
  • When you installed the extension, first opened the pop-up, saved something, and started and logged a session (to choose which tips to show).
  • Your other signed-in devices that are playing a session right now: their labels (such as "Chrome on Mac") and that session's ID.
  • When the Immersed web app last told the extension you are signed in there, and which sidebar view you used last.

Signing out removes your sign-in tokens, your plan status, the running session, the pop-up player's state and the list of your other devices. It signs out only the extension: the web app and your phone stay signed in. The rest stays until you remove the extension from Chrome, which deletes everything in the extension's storage.

Two small things are kept in a website's own session storage in that tab instead, where the website can read them: on youtube.com, the time the extension last checked your list's YouTube titles, and on a site where you hid the Add button for now, that you hid it there. Both go when the tab closes.

15.2 What It Sends to Us, and When

WhatWhen
Sign-in details: your email and password, a one-time code, or your Google sign-in.When you sign in. After that, your sign-in is refreshed automatically.
Items you save: the page or video address, title, short description, thumbnail, site, length, type and language. For YouTube channels and playlists, their IDs.Only when you save or remove something.
Sessions: the title, address, thumbnail and channel, activity, language, start and end times, length, and the rating, notes and tags you add. When you start, rename, change the activity of, stop or discard a session. During a session started from the extension on a YouTube video, also when the video's length is read, so the goal follows the video. If you set closed tabs to "Stop & log", closing the session's tab stops and logs it.
More videos in a session: the address, title and thumbnail of another YouTube video by the same creator, or from the same playlist; its channel's name, link and picture; and for a playlist, its title, owner and number of videos. When you play that video while a session on a YouTube video is running (started here, in the web app or on your phone). It joins that session.
Playback position: the YouTube video ID and the second you are at.About every 8 seconds while the session's own YouTube video plays, and when it pauses or the page closes.
Add panel lookup: the address of the page you are on (common tracking tags removed) and the page's language (the one the extension detects from its title, or else your focus language). We use it only to show whether the page is already on that language's list. It is not saved to your account, but like any request it can appear in our hosting provider's request logs.Only when you open the Add panel (or press Alt+Shift+A) with no session running, and the copy of your list on this computer cannot answer: a page in a language other than your focus language; a page that is not among the 2,000 newest items, if your list in that language has 2,000 items or more; or a list that could not be downloaded. Otherwise "On your list" is worked out on this computer, against your list, which is downloaded without the address of any page you are on.
Sidebar lookups: the YouTube channel of the tab you are on, and what you type in the sidebar search. While the sidebar is open on a YouTube tab, and when you search or index a channel.
Your devices: a random device ID, a label such as "Chrome on Mac", the running session's ID and whether its video is playing on this computer (in a tab or the pop-up player). It goes to a live channel for your account so your other signed-in devices can show where your session is playing. We do not save it.While you are signed in.
Opening the web app: a request for a one-time link that opens the Immersed web app signed in.When you open Immersed from the extension and no signed-in app tab is open.

While you are signed in, the extension also reads your profile, plan, list and running session from our servers, checks once a minute for a session started or stopped on another device, and may correct the title of a YouTube item on your list that an earlier version saved wrongly. On the Immersed web app, it reads the language you picked there and whether you are signed in there (it looks only for the name of the app's sign-in entry, so that opening Immersed from the extension can reuse that tab). It does not read, copy or send your web app sign-in token.

15.3 What the Extension Does Not Do

  • It does not keep a history of the sites you visit. Apart from the items in Section 15.2 (such as a YouTube video that joins a running session, or the channel of the tab you are on while the sidebar is open), the pages you browse are not sent to us.
  • It does not read passwords, form entries or keystrokes on the sites you visit.
  • It does not collect your location. Like any web request, its requests show your IP address to our servers, which keep it only in the standard server logs described in Section 2.2.
  • It has no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools.
  • We do not sell extension data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide credit or lending.
  • We do not transfer it to anyone except to run the features above (through the services in Section 15.4), to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case we will tell you first.
  • People do not read it unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it is needed for security, the law requires it, or it is aggregated for running the Service.

15.4 Where It Goes

  • Immersed's servers. What the extension sends to us goes to Supabase, the same database and sign-in provider the web app uses (Section 6), over encrypted connections.
  • YouTube (Google). The pop-up player is YouTube's own embedded player. It loads from youtube.com with the video, the start time and the site you have it open on (the site, not the page), and YouTube's privacy policy and cookies apply to it. The extension also asks YouTube's public oEmbed service for a video's title, channel and thumbnail.
  • Google sign-in, if you choose it, opens in a Chrome sign-in window between you, Google and Supabase.
  • Images. Thumbnails load from i.ytimg.com, YouTube channel pictures from YouTube's image servers, pictures of saved pages from the sites they come from, channel and site icons from unavatar.io (with logo.clearbit.com as a fallback), language flags from flagcdn.com, and your profile picture from where it is hosted. These services see which image is asked for (for unavatar.io and Clearbit, the YouTube handle or website name of the item shown), plus standard browser request data such as your IP address.

15.5 Extension Permissions in Plain Words

PermissionWhat It Is For
Content script on http and https pagesShows the session timer and pop-up player on whatever page you are on. Where it shows the Add button (video, audio and reading sites, or every site with Show everywhere on, unless you turned the button or that site off) or the session timer, and when you open the extension's pop-up, reads the page's address, title, description, picture, author and length to fill in the Add button and panel. Outside a session, it checks the address against your list on this computer. Adds Save and Immerse buttons on YouTube, and tells the open sidebar which YouTube channel the page is from. None of this is sent except as described in Section 15.2. On the Immersed web app, reads the language you picked there and whether you are signed in there.
tabsFinds the tab already playing your session, checks whether the Immersed web app is open, and lets the sidebar follow the YouTube channel of the tab you are on.
storageKeeps your sign-in, settings, running session and the session timer's place on this computer.
contextMenusAdds Immersed to the right-click menu.
alarmsChecks once a minute for a session started or stopped on another device, updates the timer on the toolbar icon, and rings when you reach your goal.
identityOpens the Google sign-in window, if you sign in with Google.
notificationsShows notices such as "Still immersing?" and "Goal reached". You can turn them off in the extension's settings.
offscreenPlays the goal chime.
sidePanelShows your list and creators in Chrome's sidebar.
scriptingAfter an install or update, puts Immersed's own content script back into the tabs that were already open, so a running session's timer and pop-up player carry on without reloading them. Nothing else is put into pages.
bndhfcarefozbrxtalvq.supabase.coTalks to Immersed's servers.
www.youtube.comLooks up a YouTube video's title and channel.
http and https sites (host access)Lets the scripting permission put the content script back into tabs that were already open. It is used for nothing else; the content script already runs on these pages.

15.6 Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

15.7 Deleting Extension Data

  • To delete what is on this computer, sign out and remove the extension from Chrome.
  • To delete what the extension sent to your account, delete your account in the Immersed web app (Settings → Account → Delete account, see Section 7), or email support@adeimmersed.com from the address you sign in with. Either way we delete your list, your sessions and their logs, and your playback positions, remove your account from any YouTube channel lookups you asked for, and end the extension's sign-in. If you email, we tell you when it is done.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
