Lingopie is where you watch. Immersed plans and tracks everything you watch.
Lingopie is a streaming service for learners: TV shows, films and music videos in your target language with dual subtitles you can click for a translation. Immersed shows what your hours were made of: each session is one of nine activities, like Active Subtitles or Active Listening, with a rating of how much you understood, so you can see the change as the subtitles come off. It is a language immersion tracker and planner: a free plan built from your answers, a daily timeline for the shows, podcasts and books you learn from, and reports of your hours.
Free. About two minutes. No account, no card.

Something out of date? Tell me.
If you want a ready-made library of native TV with clickable dual subtitles, flashcards from the scenes and a player that slows down and loops lines, Lingopie is built for that. Immersed has no video player for shows and no subtitle tools.
If you want a plan for your day and one record of every hour you spend in the language, across Lingopie, Netflix, YouTube, podcasts and books, that is Immersed. They are not either-or: watch on Lingopie, track it in Immersed, and see what your hours were made of, not only how many there were.
01What each one is for
One is a screen to watch on. The other is the plan around every screen.
Lingopie gives you something to put on. Pick a show, turn on subtitles in your language, English or both, click a word you do not know and it is saved as a flashcard tied to the scene. Its own write-up says the catalog is smaller than the big streaming services, with the deepest libraries in Spanish, French and Italian.
Immersed does not stream shows and is not a subtitle tool. It answers what Lingopie does not ask: where immersion fits in your day, which of nine activities your hours went to, what else to watch, listen to and read, and whether you are actually putting the time in.
If your language has a small Lingopie catalog, the Library lists the platforms native speakers use in 22 languages, sorted by kind (streaming, broadcasters, webtoons, podcasts, radio and more) and by region. Discover adds a feed of native creators and podcasts in 11 languages, and scrolling it logs itself.
- Lingopie: dual subtitles, click-to-translate, scene flashcards, slow-down and loop
- Immersed: a free blueprint, a daily timeline, nine kinds of session and reports

02Before you press play
A plan for when you watch, not only what.
A good library does not help on the days you never open it. Immersed's blueprint starts from your real time: your job, your commute, your evenings. It shows Hidden Immersion Time, the slots where passive listening fits, and turns the plan into a timeline from Wake up to Wind down.
Put a Lingopie episode after dinner as a repeating task with a reminder, a podcast on the commute and a YouTube video at lunch. Tick each one off as you go.
- Milestones for your first months, on the free blueprint
- Plan tasks into the free gaps of your day, repeat them, get reminders
- The Fluency Checklist's Foundations: what to have in place first, free on the blueprint

03While you watch
Lingopie time counts, wherever it happens.
Press play in Immersed, pick Active Subtitles, then watch your episode on Lingopie. Stop the timer when you are done and rate how much you understood. Forgot? Log the session afterward with the start and stop time.
Immersed doesn't connect to Lingopie and doesn't read your watch history. You press play or log it. In return, every source lands in one place: Lingopie, Netflix, a YouTube or Spotify link that plays inside the session, a book, a tutor call. On a computer, Immersed for Chrome keeps the session timer with you across tabs.

04Looking back
Words saved, or what your hours were made of.
Lingopie keeps your saved words and flashcards inside Lingopie. That is useful for vocabulary.
Immersed's reports stack your hours by activity. Log Lingopie with subtitles on as Active Subtitles and with them off as Active Listening, and you can watch one give way to the other while the comprehension line climbs. That mix, not the total, is why two learners with the same hours are in different places.
Growth also shows your daily average, a consistency grid with streaks, and the shows and channels you spent the most time with, linked from the report. Export as PDF, Excel or CSV, or share a report link.

What Lingopie does well
- Real TV and film at native speed, with a safety net of dual subtitles
- Click any word for a translation, saved to a flashcard tied to the scene you heard it in
- A player built for learners: slower playback, auto-pause after each line, loop a single line
- Watch on the couch with apps for Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV and Google TV
- One yearly or lifetime plan covers every language they offer
- Grammar help on demand with an Explain Sentence button, and a Say It feature for repeating lines
- A strong library in Spanish, French and Italian, with new titles added regularly
What Immersed does that Lingopie doesn't
- Builds a plan from your time, goals and level, with milestones for your first months
- Puts Lingopie on a daily timeline next to podcasts, YouTube and reading
- Tracks every hour in the language, from every source, in one place
- Lists the platforms native speakers use in 22 languages, and gives you a Discover feed of creators and podcasts where scrolling logs itself
- Asks how much you understood after each session, and charts it over time
- Stacks your hours by activity, so you see Active Subtitles turn into Active Listening as the subtitles come off
- Covers the passive listening hours on the commute, which a video service is not built for
Pick Lingopie if
- You are past the first few hundred words and want hours of real TV with subtitle support
- You want one place to find shows in your language instead of hunting on Netflix
- You learn words best by clicking them in context and reviewing them as scene flashcards
- You want to watch on a TV with a remote, not only a laptop
- You learn Spanish, French or Italian, where the library is deepest
Pick Immersed if
- You watch and listen across many places and want every hour in one record
- You want a plan that tells you how much, when and what, around your actual day
- You want proof of progress: streaks, time by activity, comprehension over time
- Your language has a small Lingopie library and you need picks from other platforms
Use both, or move over
Watch on Lingopie, track it in Immersed
Use Lingopie for your evening show. Plan it in Immersed as a repeating task, press play in Immersed when you start, choose Active Subtitles, and rate your comprehension when you stop. Fill the rest of the day from the Library: podcasts for the commute, YouTube at lunch.
Over time, try turning the English line off, then both. When a show feels easy with target-language subtitles only, log it as Active Listening with subtitles off, and your comprehension chart will show the change.

Lingopie's prices load at checkout, so these come from a review that read their pricing page in September 2026 and from the US App Store listing. Lingopie runs frequent sales, so the price you see may be lower. Lingopie and Immersed pay for different things: Lingopie for content to watch, Immersed for the plan and the record of all your immersion.
FAQ
Questions people ask.
Is Immersed a Lingopie alternative?+
Not directly. Lingopie is where you watch shows with interactive subtitles. Immersed is a planner and tracker for all your immersion. Immersed has no show library or subtitle tools; Lingopie has no plan for your day or tracking outside its own app. Many learners use both.
Does Immersed track my Lingopie watch time automatically?+
No. Immersed doesn't connect to Lingopie and doesn't read your history on any service. Press play in Immersed when you start an episode, or log it afterward with the start and stop time. The parts of Immersed that log themselves are the Discover scroll and the free listening games.
How much does Lingopie cost?+
About $83.88 a year for all languages, about $41.97 for three months of one language, or about $229 for lifetime, per a review that checked their pricing page in September 2026. The US App Store lists $13.99 a month. There is a 7-day free trial on the website, and sales are frequent.
Is Lingopie good for beginners?+
Lingopie itself says it works best once you know basic pronunciation and a few hundred common words. Complete beginners usually get more from a course first, with easy input alongside it.
Which Immersed activity should I log Lingopie as?+
Active Subtitles when you are reading the subtitles as you watch, Active Listening when you watch with subtitles off. Immersed keeps them separate so you can see the shift over time.
Does Immersed have a video player for shows?+
Immersed plays YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts links inside a session. It does not stream TV shows or films, and it has no clickable subtitles.
