Streaks counts the days in a row. Immersed counts what those days were made of.
Streaks is a habit tracker for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac by Crunchy Bagel: pick up to 24 daily tasks, tick them off, and watch the chain grow. A chain says you showed up, but what you did on those days is the thing, so Immersed records every session as one of nine activities and shows what the streak was made of. Immersed is a language immersion tracker and planner. It turns immersion into something you can see, plan and keep: a free plan built from your answers, a daily timeline for the shows, podcasts and books you learn from, and reports of your hours.
Free. About two minutes. No account, no card.
The short version
Checked October 24, 2026.
Something out of date? Tell me.
If you want one beautiful app for every daily habit on your iPhone and Watch, and "did I do my language today?" is enough, Streaks is excellent, costs one small payment and has no subscription.
If you want to know how many hours you did, of what kind, and whether you understood more this month than last, Immersed tracks that and plans the hours around your day. Immersed shows a streak too, on a consistency grid, so you don't lose the chain by switching.
01What Streaks is good at
The simplest daily chain there is.
Streaks gives you up to 24 tasks a day. Tick one and the streak grows. You can set custom repeat schedules, add negative tasks for habits you want to break, write a daily note and see your current and best streak. It can mark tasks done from Apple Health data, and a timed task counts down on your Lock Screen.
It is polished. The US App Store lists it at $5.99, rated 4.8 from about 27,000 ratings, with an Editors' Choice award. For a language, a task like "15 minutes of Spanish" with a timer is a perfectly good start.

02What a streak hides
Day 200 looks the same whether you did ten minutes or three hours.
A streak answers one question: did you do it? It can't tell you how many hours of listening are behind the chain, which kind of immersion they were, or whether you understand more now. A long streak of five-minute days and a long streak of two-hour days look identical.
In Immersed you press play and pick one of nine activities: Active Listening, Passive Listening, Active Subtitles, Reading, Study, SRS, Speaking, Writing or Shadowing. Paste a YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts link and it plays inside the session. Stop, rate how much you understood, and the session lands on your timeline. Forgot to press play? Log it afterward.
- The play button can default to one activity, like Passive Listening on the commute
- Comprehension rating after each session, charted over time
- Immersed doesn't read your viewing history: you press play or log it. The Discover scroll and the free listening games log themselves

03Before you press play
A plan for the day, not just a box to tick.
Streaks reminds you to do the task. It doesn't know what your language needs, where the time hides in your day, or what to put on.
Immersed starts with a free blueprint: about two minutes of questions about your time, goals, level and what you already watch. It returns milestones for your first months, a daily protocol, the Hidden Immersion Time in your day (the commute, the dishes, the gym), and an Immersion Library of things to watch, listen to and read. With Pro, the timeline lays out your day from Wake up to Wind down, with repeating tasks and reminders.

04Looking back
The streak, plus what was inside it.
Immersed's Growth page has the streak too: a consistency grid of your days, how many you showed up, your current streak and your best. Next to it, your hours are stacked by the nine activities, a comprehension line shows whether you understand more, and your top shows and channels are linked from the report. Two people with a 200-day streak can be in very different places, and the activity mix is what shows why.
The streak earns things as well. The Streak badge on your Profile levels up from Kindling at 3 days to Eternal Flame at 1,000. Aim, Immersed's mascot, earns outfits for it: Cosmonaut (Moon) at 3 days, the Vibrant Baseball Cap at 7, and the Victory Hachimaki for rebuilding a 14-day streak after one breaks. Nothing is sold; every outfit comes from immersing.
Export a PDF, Excel or CSV, or share a report link. A monthly report waits in My reports. That is the difference: the chain, and the evidence of what you built with it.

05On your home screen
Streaks owns the iPhone and the Watch. Immersed is building its widgets on Android.
Streaks lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch: widgets, complications, Siri Shortcuts and a timer on the Lock Screen. Immersed has nothing like that on Apple devices yet. On iPhone it is the web app, installed from Safari, and there is no Watch app or iPhone widget. A native iPhone app is coming.
On Android, Immersed's native app is in testing for Google Play. It has nine home-screen widgets: Aim in your outfit (which warns you when the streak is at risk), Today, This Week Immersed, Weekly goal, Now, Immersed time, Heatmap, Continue and By activity, with Play and Stop right on the widget. A running session sits in the notification shade and on the lock screen with Finish and the Aim button, and Aim's face is the app icon, changing with your day.

Pick Immersed if
- You have a long streak and want to know what it added up to

Keep the chain, add the hours
Keep a Streaks task for your language and tick it once you press stop in Immersed. Streaks stays the one place for all your habits, and Immersed holds the detail: which activity, how long, how much you understood.
Or let Immersed carry the streak for your language. Its consistency grid shows your current and best streak next to your hours, so the language task can come off your Streaks list and free up a slot.
Pricing · checked October 24, 2026
What each one costs.
Immersed
- Free: the blueprint for one language (with the Toolkit, Library picks and the Fluency Checklist's Foundations), the listening games in 12 languages with their leaderboards, Aim Runner, the Discord and the sample app. A free account also gets the Fitting Room's day-one outfits, Hour Marks and badges from game time.
- Immersed Pro: $60 a year (starts with a free week, about $5 a month) or $9.99 a month. Timeline, sessions, streaks, Discover, Library, Growth and reports, monthly Sprints, more languages.
Streaks
- One purchase: $5.99 on the US App Store. No subscription and no ads.
- Family Sharing covers up to six family members.
Streaks is a one-time $5.99, which is cheaper than a single month of almost anything. Immersed is about $5 a month on the yearly plan, and what you pay for is the plan, the timer by activity, the library and the reports, none of which a habit tracker tries to do.
FAQ
Questions people ask.
Is Streaks good for language learning?+
For the habit, yes. A daily task like "20 minutes of Korean", with a timer and a reminder, helps you show up. It doesn't measure the language itself: hours by kind, or how much you understood.
How much does Streaks cost?+
It is a one-time purchase of $5.99 on the US App Store, with no subscription and no ads. Family Sharing covers up to six people. Prices vary by country.
Does Immersed show streaks?+
Yes. Growth has a consistency grid that shows how many days you immersed, your current streak and your best, alongside your hours, time by activity and comprehension. The Streak badge on your Profile levels up as the run grows, and streaks earn outfits for Aim. Any length of session counts for the day, and there is no streak freeze.
Is Streaks on Android?+
No. Streaks is for Apple devices: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Vision Pro. Immersed runs in the browser on any phone or computer and installs to the home screen, and a native Android app with nine home-screen widgets is in testing for Google Play.
Does Immersed have an iPhone app?+
Not on the App Store yet; a native iPhone app is coming. The web app installs on iPhone from Safari and works like an app. There is no Apple Watch app or iPhone widget; widgets are in the Android app, which is in testing.
Is Immersed free?+
Partly. The blueprint, the listening games with their leaderboards, the Discord and the sample app are free. The timeline, sessions, Discover and reports are Immersed Pro: $60 a year with a free week first, or $9.99 a month.
