Structured plans any day. Immersed plans a day around your language.
Structured is a polished visual day planner: tasks, calendar events and routines on one timeline, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web. A block there knows how long; an Immersed session also knows what you did in it, as one of nine activities, because hours alone are one-dimensional and what you did in them is the thing. Immersed is a language immersion tracker and planner. It turns immersion into something you can see, plan and keep: a free plan built from your answers, a daily timeline for the shows, podcasts and books you learn from, and reports of your hours.
Free. About two minutes. No account, no card.
The short version
Checked October 24, 2026.
Something out of date? Tell me.
If you want one planner for your whole life (work, errands, the gym, and a block called "Spanish"), with calendar import and apps on every Apple device, Structured is excellent and mostly free.
If the day you are planning is built around a language, and you want the planner to know what immersion is, suggest what to put in each block, time it, and show you the hours afterward, Immersed is built for that.
Structured tells you when. Immersed also tells you what, and counts it.
01The timeline
Two timelines that look alike, made for different days.
Structured is the closest thing to Immersed's timeline outside language learning, and it is very good. You drag tasks onto a visual day, give them a time and length, add subtasks and notes, and park loose ideas in an inbox. With Pro you pull in your calendars, set recurring tasks, and let Structured AI draft your day. It is popular with people who find a list overwhelming and a picture of the day easier.
Immersed's timeline runs from Wake up to Wind down, and you plan tasks into the free gaps, repeat them and get reminders, much like Structured. It has an Inbox too, with plain-language quick add: type "Netflix 7pm 40m" and it lands on today at 19:00 for 40 minutes. The difference is what the blocks are for. In Structured, "Korean, 8 pm" is a coloured bar. In Immersed it is a session with an activity, a show or podcast attached, and a comprehension rating when you finish.

02Before you plan
Structured needs you to know what goes in the block.
A general planner is only as good as what you put in it. Most learners know they should "do immersion" but not how much, at what level, or where it fits in a day with a job and a commute.
Immersed starts with a free blueprint, about two minutes of questions about your time, goals, level and what you already watch. It returns milestones for your first months, a daily protocol, the Hidden Immersion Time in your day (the commute, the dishes, the gym), and a library of things to watch, listen to and read in your language. That is what goes into the blocks.
- An Immersion Library with picks from the main platforms for Watch, Listen and Read
- A five-tool Immersion Toolkit picked for your language
- First-month sprints and the Foundations stage of the Fluency Checklist, 11 of the 32 things an immerser has in place

03During the block
A focus timer, or a session that knows what you are doing.
Structured has a Focus Timer with Intervals, its take on Pomodoro, so you can work through a task in focus and break blocks. It is built for getting a task done.
An Immersed session is built for immersion. Pick one of nine activities (Active Listening, Passive Listening, Active Subtitles, Reading, Study, SRS, Speaking, Writing or Shadowing), paste a YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts link and it plays inside the session, then rate how much you understood. Or open Discover, a feed of creators in your language, where scrolling counts as immersion and is logged.
Structured shows a running task as a Live Activity. Immersed's Android app, in testing for Google Play, puts the running session in the notification shade and on the lock screen with Finish and the Aim button, and nine home-screen widgets start and stop sessions. A session is also one session across your devices: start it on the laptop and the phone shows "Playing on Chrome on Mac", with Play here to move it.

04Looking back
A planner forgets yesterday. A tracker adds it up.
Structured is about today and the days ahead. It does not give you reports of how many hours went into each kind of task over a month.
Immersed's Growth page stacks your week, month, year and all time by the nine activities, so you see how much was active listening, how much passive, how much reading or speaking. A comprehension line shows whether you understand more, and your top shows and channels are linked from the report. That mix is what explains progress: two learners with the same hours can be months apart because of how the hours were spent.
There is a consistency grid with streaks as well. Export a PDF, Excel or CSV, keep monthly reports in My reports, or share a report link.

Structured for the day, Immersed for the language
Plenty of people will keep Structured for everything else. A simple setup: put one or two blocks in Structured called "Immersion", then plan and run what happens inside them in Immersed, where each session is timed, rated and added to your reports.
If you find yourself planning almost your whole day around listening and reading, Immersed's timeline can carry the whole day on its own, from Wake up to Wind down.

What each one costs.
Immersed

- Immersed Pro: $60 a year (starts with a free week, about $5 a month) or $9.99 a month. Timeline and Inbox, sessions, Discover, Library, Growth and reports, monthly Sprints, more languages.
Structured
- Free: the visual timeline, inbox, subtasks and notes, sync, the Focus Timer, widgets, colours and icons. No ads.
- Structured Pro: monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase. Adds calendar and Reminders import, recurring tasks, Structured AI, Replan and custom notifications. Some Pro features are iOS only.
- Structured says Pro pricing depends on your region. The US App Store listing shows Pro purchases from $2.99 to $99.99, with lifetime at $99.99.
Check the paywall inside Structured for your own price. Structured free is generous, and for planning a general day it may be all you need. Immersed is about $5 a month on the yearly plan, and the blueprint is free, so you can get your plan before you pay for anything.
FAQ
Questions people ask.
Is Structured good for language learning?+
It is good for fitting study into your day. You can give "Japanese" a block, make it recur on Pro, and run it with the Focus Timer. It does not know what immersion is, suggest content, or keep reports of your hours.
What is the difference between Structured and Immersed?+
Both lay out your day on a timeline. Structured is a general planner for any task, with calendar import and AI planning. Immersed is built for one language goal: it plans your immersion from your answers, times each session as an immersion activity, and reports your hours.
Is Structured free?+
Mostly. The timeline, inbox, subtasks, Focus Timer and sync are free with no ads. Recurring tasks, calendar import, Structured AI and Replan need Structured Pro, sold monthly, yearly or as a lifetime purchase at a price that depends on your region.
Can Immersed import my calendar like Structured?+
No. Immersed does not import calendars. You plan tasks into the free gaps of its timeline yourself. It does import CSV files, including Toggl Track exports, for your past hours.
Does Immersed have an iPhone app like Structured?+
Not in the App Store yet; a native iPhone app is coming. Immersed runs in the browser on iPhone and installs to the home screen from Safari like an app. A native Android app, with widgets and a session card in the notification shade, is in testing for Google Play.
Is Immersed free like Structured?+
Partly. The blueprint, the listening games with their leaderboards, the Discord and the sample app are free. The timeline, sessions, Discover and reports are Immersed Pro: $60 a year with a free week first, or $9.99 a month.
