How do I bring back something I deleted?

Things you remove from your library or your toolkit wait in Recently deleted for 30 days. Open Settings, then Immersion, then Recently deleted, and tap restore. Logged time and timeline tasks don't go there: when you delete those, they're gone, so I always ask first.

Right after you remove something

When you take something out of your library or your toolkit, a message pops up: "… was removed. It's in Recently deleted for 30 days." It has two buttons:

  • Undo puts it straight back.
  • Recently deleted opens Recently deleted.

Later on

  1. Open Settings and tap the Immersion tab.

  2. Scroll down to More and tap Recently deleted ("Bring back anything you removed in the last 30 days").

  3. Pick Library or Tools at the top.

  4. Tap the round arrows next to the thing you want back. It goes back where it was. Restore All brings everything back at once.

A tool goes back into the same toolkit spot. If that spot has something in it now, I say "Couldn't restore it. That toolkit slot may already be full." Free up the spot and try again.

How do I delete something for good?

In Recently deleted, tap the bin next to it and confirm. Delete all empties the whole tab ("Delete everything here for good? This can't be undone."). After 30 days, things drop off the list by themselves and you can't bring them back from there.

What can't I bring back?

  • Logged time. Unticking a task or deleting a log removes the time for good. That's why I ask "Delete this log?" first.
  • Tasks you delete from your timeline, with their logged time.
  • A session you threw away (sliding stop left, or Discard).

If you deleted a log by mistake, add it again. See I forgot to start the timer. How do I log it afterward?.

Good to know

  • Toolkit removals stay on that device. Recently deleted shows the tools you removed on the phone or computer you're using. Restore them there.
  • Pro. You remove things from the Library and Toolkit tabs of your dashboard, which is part of Pro. See What can I do without Pro?.
