What happens when my free month of Pro from Migaku ends?

Your Pro switches off on the date shown on your Migaku card, and you go back to the free plan. Nothing is charged. If you want to keep Pro, there's a "keep Pro" offer you can open before or after that date.

How the free month works

  1. Subscribe to Migaku through my link. It has to be my link, because purchases made in the App Store can't be tracked.

  2. Open the Migaku offer in the app (the pink bar at the top, "Get 1 month of Pro free with Migaku") and tap through to the claim.

  3. Enter the email you used on Migaku and submit.

  4. I check it by hand. It usually takes under 24 hours. Your card says "Claim received, verifying" while it waits. Can't wait? There's a link on that card to poke me on Discord.

  5. When I approve it, you get an email from me that says your Pro is live, with your end date. The card turns green and shows when your 30 days run out.

What happens on the end date

  • Pro turns off on the date on your card. No card was ever on file, so nothing gets charged.
  • You're back on the free plan. That means your blueprint for one language, a preview of the Library and Tools, the listening games and the Discord community.
  • The timeline and the rest of the dashboard are part of Pro, so they ask you to upgrade. The blueprint stays free.
  • What you logged is not deleted. It's all still on your account, waiting for you.

How do I keep Pro after the month?

  1. Open the Migaku offer again. On your green card, tap View Continuation Options.

  2. A pop-up shows the plans. Its headline changes with the calendar:

    • More than 7 days left: "Keep Pro when your Migaku month ends."
    • Last 7 days: "Your 30 days of Pro are almost up."
    • After the end date: "Your 30 days of Pro have ended."

    A yellow "days left" tag only appears in your last 30 days.

  3. Pick Yearly ($60 a year, about $5 a month, with a free week) or Monthly ($9.99 a month) with the switch.

  4. Tap Keep my Pro (yearly, while your Migaku month is still running), Start my free week (yearly, after it ended) or Continue monthly. That opens the same checkout page every other upgrade button uses. See How do I upgrade to Pro?.

  5. Not ready? Tap Not now. Your blueprint stays free.

Good to know

  • Go Yearly anytime and you lose nothing. While your Migaku month is still running, you keep every day of it, then you get your free week, and only then comes your first $60 payment. Checkout spells out both dates: "Your Migaku Pro runs to …, then a free week. First payment $60 on …". Cancel before that date in Settings and you're not charged. Monthly has no free week: it starts charging the day you check out.
  • Phone and desktop are the same. The offer lives in the pink bar at the top of both.
  • Pro users can close the pink bar. If you closed it and can't find the offer, poke me on Discord and I'll point you to it.

Why does my Migaku card still say I'm Pro after the end date?

Go by the date on the card, not the headline. Once the date has passed, Pro is off even if the card still looks green. Open View Continuation Options and the pop-up will say your 30 days have ended.

Why is my claim stuck on "verifying"?

I check them myself, and it can take up to 24 hours. If it's been longer, poke me on Discord.

Why was my claim rejected?

Usually it's a different email. Re-enter the one you used on Migaku. If that fails too, tell me on Discord and I'll sort it by hand.
